WebMar 1, 2006 · Snider sights are atrocious to eyes both young and old. The "'V" notch of the rear rifle sight is as deep as the Grand Canyon, making it difficult to maintain consistent elevation. On one of my 3-band rifles, its earlier owner simply filed down the deep "V" to express sight dimensions. The resulting sight picture is vastly improved.
